Former USA president George Bush shaves head to honour 3yr old cancer patient

Former President George H.W. Bush has shaved his
head to show support for a 2-year-old who is battling
leukemia, the son of a member of his Secret Service
detail.
Members of the Bush Protective Detail started
ditching their hair last week in honor of little Patrick,
whose family has been making its seasonal home in
Kennebunkport, Maine, for several years while dad
Jon has been part of the team guarding the 41st
president of the United States.
"It was very easy for him to do," Bush spokesman Jim
McGrath told CBS News.
George and Barbara Bush lost their daughter Robin
to leukemia in 1954, when she was 3.
According to the website Patrick's Pals, set up to keep
family and friends apprised of the child's well-being
and to give folks a chance to support a charity
motorcycle ride for his treatment, Patrick's prognosis
is "very positive" but he has "many years of treatment
ahead."
"Our little guy received some high-powered support
this week when President George Bush 41 volunteered
to shave his head to show his support for Patrick and
Patrick's Pals," read the newest post on the site.
"Members of his Secret Service detail have also been
shaving their heads this week in solidarity. We cannot
thank both President AND Mrs. Bush enough for
their generosity and concern!
