My first day as a Teacher

I am currently undergoing my service year at a secondary school.And before I continue I will want to say a big thank you to my parents for trying their very possible best in giving me a very good education especially primary and secondary school.
I went to class for the first time today,the students grumbly greeted me after shouting lots of hello's and hi's for them to keep quiet and the students in front telling those at the back to keep quite(this charade went on fr about 2min)the class was silent.
I introduced my self and told them the subject I'll be taking,they clapped and hooted,then I laid down the ground rules,while I was doing that they just kept entering and leaving the class at will,I have to confess I haven't seen that type of thing before in my life,I had to add that to my ground rules,take permission before leaving my class,after a while I had to resort to sending some people out of the class though they sneaked in again.
I taught them,asked questions(dey don't even know anything)nd I even had to write the note for them on the board.I was strictly forbidden to dictate the note to them(they don't even know how to spell sef).
My first class was ok though I had to beat them too(don't look at me like that,the students themselves told me to beat them that they won't rake me serious till I do)I kuku then asked them to bet each other,my hand cannot now turn into scorpion,but I gave some ppl that weren't taking it serious a stroke each,I think it was hilarious to them that I asked them to beat each other.
But overall the schoold is not the main deal,its sad the response they show to education but then what can I do?

If my grandma were alive today,she would av been 85yrs old.and if she were alive today,I would av been telling her all these but because she isn't m penning it down. I loved everything about my grandmother,the way she talks,works,tells us stories(about her and all)and everything. She called me Fiyinfoluwa and my sisters,Oluwatoke and Oluwaseye. Among all my names Fiyinfoluwas is the one I like and cherish the most.And till she died,she called us all that special name. I was going to ask her to give me a list of names I can give to my children but I kept on postponing it nd saying I will ask her later,therez still time and all hut now shez gone,just like that,without any warning.
